 Atlanta Christmas House to Benefit Alliance Theatre

Atlanta Christmas House will be open to tour through Dec. 9 and features top Atlanta designers such as Beth Webb, Jim Howard, Laura Walker, Barbara Heath, Amy D. Morris and many more. There will also be special Saturday seminars. Danielle Rollins will be signing her new book “Soiree: The Art of Entertaining” on Dec. 8. Complimentary parking and shuttle at Chastain Horse Park. André Leon Talley’s “Little Black Dress” exhibit at SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah

SCAD Little Black Dress exhibit SCAD Little Black Dress exhibit

Little Black Dress, a major exhibit of this chic and classic wardrobe staple, designed by fashion’s top designers from 1920s to the present day, is on display at SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah through Dec. 16. Curated by Vogue Contributing Editor and SCAD Trustee Andre Leon Talley, the exhibition focuses on historic and contemporary examples of the fashion icon “the little black dress,” and reveals how it has been endlessly appropriated and translated. Featured garments include a Tom Ford's Fall/Winter 2011 frock, previously worn by Lady Gaga; a selection from Prabal Gurung's Fall 2011 collection, previously worn by Sarah Jessica Parker; and a Stella McCartney worn by Rihanna. Many other iconic pieces will be displayed, including those from Chanel, L'Wren Scott, Givenchy, Cushnie et Ochs, Yves Saint Laurent and more.  www.scadmoa.org/

“Ghengis Khan” exhibit at Fernbank Museum of Natural History

The special exhibition Genghis Khan invades Atlanta through January 21, taking visitors on an unforgettable journey into Khan's legendary empire. This major exhibition includes the largest touring collection of 13th-century Mongolian artifacts ever assembled: more than 200 rare, authentic relics from the conqueror's reign offer visitors a glimpse of historic gold jewelry, ceramics, coins, armor, weaponry, silk robes, costumes, religious relics, a "murdered" mummy, and more. Tickets are $17.50 for adults. Yinka Shonibare Exhibit at SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah

SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, presents "Addio del Passato," an exhibition of new works by artist Yinka Shonibare. The exhibition features photographs from Shonibare’s allegorical "Fake Death Pictures" series, sculptures, and the film "Addio Del Passato" (“So Closes My Sad Story”) that collectively explore themes of desire, love, repression and power. These works weave together conceptual impressions of colonialism using a theatrical vocabulary and visual imagery that speak to history through the lens of the present. Through Jan. 27. MODA’s “The South’s Next Wave” Design Exhibit

MoDA's Next Wave exhibit MoDA's Next Wave exhibit

Part exhibition, part competition; this show pairs top Atlanta interior designers with the top object designers to create, stunning artistic vignettes throughout the museum. Participants represent a who’s who of Atlanta’s design community in the fields of fashion, art, interior design, etc. The event is curated by David Goodrowe and Tim Hobby, co-founders of Aesthetic Identity Design firm Goodrowe | Hobby. Food 101 Hosts a Special Fundraising Dinner to Benefit Victims of Hurricane Sandy

In conjunction with the renovation and grand reopening of Food 101, the restaurant will hosts a "Southern Comfort Relief Dinner For Sandy Victims" tonight beginning at 6:30 PM with cocktails and appetizers in the new Barrel Bar. All of Food 1010 Concepts restaurant chefs will be on hand to create the feast, including the chefs from Food 101, Meehan's, and Cibo e Beve. The menu includes pork belly tostada with bacon marmelade; shrimp and grit cake with mushroom thyme aioli; Southern oysters Rockefeller with collard greens and Benton's smoked bacon; scallops with foie gras and black truffle risotto; braised beef cheeks with roasted parsnip puree; and for dessert a hummingbird cake with maraschino Luxardo and cream cheese frosting.
