The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead and The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, Downtown, Go All Out for Romance this Feb. with Truffles Dinners, 14 Days of Haute Chocolate, Indulgent Spa Specials, and, last but not least, a French Chef-Driven-Pop-Up in the legendary The Dining Room To Add Spark to Valentine’s Hearts.

Our two local Ritz-Carlton properties are rolling out the Romance with a capital “R” all month long with the limited re-opening of the legendary Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, The Dining Room, as the centerpiece of the February programming. But first up, The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, Downtown, has a little splurge of its own. The Atlanta Grill will be serving up a decadent series of truffle dinners Jan. 26-Feb. 2.

Move over Italy and France, Tennessee has its own bounty of prized Perigord (aka “black winter”) truffles and Atlanta Grill Chef Brian Jones has secured a treasure lode of these fancy fungi for your degustation. Chef Jones will be generously flavoring a four-course gourmet dinner at Atlanta Grill with these Tennessee truffles from Sat. Jan. 26 to Sat. Feb. 2. Why Tennessee? Because it seems the foothills region of the Blue Ridge Mountains of East Tennessee has an environment and terroir very similar to the famous French truffle region near Provence. And just like in France, Dr. Tom Michaels, founder of Tennessee Truffles, employs a truffle-hunting dog to sniff out the unsightly but deliciously tasting black tubers, buried beneath the ground.

Like its French cousins, these wrinkled black fungi from the South give off the most intense floral, earthy and musky essence. Chef Jones, who is a big fan of foraging and local sourcing, will transmute the truffles into decadent winter dishes with expert wine pairings by the sommelier Brian White. The Mobile 5-star-winning The Dining Room will re-open its legendary doors for a limited time this Valentine’s weekend and you are invited. Executive Chef Franck Steigerwald will prepare a gourmet, four-course Valentines dinner in this privileged space for a few lucky diners. The menu is an ode to the finest Continental cooking, and Steigerwald certainly knows his way around European cuisines. He is a native of the Burgundy region of France, a seasoned luxury hotel chef, and he cut his culinary teeth at several Michelin-star restaurants in Paris. The French finesse on the plate will be complemented with wine pairing selected by sommelier Linda Torres Alarcon and sourced from The Ritz-Carlton’s storied wine cellar. The Pop-UP Valentine’s Dinner in The Dining Room at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead will be offered Thurs. Feb. 14 through Sat. Feb. 16 starting at 5:30PM with the last seating at 9:30PM. Ritz-Carlton Buckhead Offers 14 Days of Chocolate Feb. 1-14

A creative calendar inspired by rich chocolate offers Ritz-Carlton Buckhead guests luscious ways to celebrate romance in February.  Highlights include a chocolate-laden afternoon tea in the lobby lounge Feb. 1-3, Feb. 6-10 and Feb. 13-17 from 2:30-4PM for $44 per person. Among the chocolate specialties: chocolate chip cherry scones, flourless chocolate brandy cherry cake and coconut chocolate frangipane.

On Sat. Feb. 2, The Lobby Lounge will feature a decadent Chocolate Fountain with strawberries, biscotti, pretzels and other sweets for dipping from 2:30 to 5PM for $14 per person. Meanwhile the Ritz’s famous Sunday brunch always includes lavish dessert buffets and on Sun. Feb. 3 it will also highlight a lush display of chocolate desserts, called “The SuperBowl of Chocolate,” in honor of Super Bowl Sunday. Try the dark chocolate crème brulee, miniature chocolate cream pie or maybe the Bailey’s milk chocolate cake. Brunch is served from 11:30AM-2:30 PM and $67 per person.  

 

Meanwhile, the Lobby Lounge will serve several chocolate-inspired libations during the month of February, such as the Stone Fruit Truffle Cocktail (Chocolate Royale liquer, vodka, cream, cherry liquer and a brandy cherry garnish). Even the hotel’s luxury spa is getting into the chocolate-love, serving complimentary cocoa truffle tea, as you indulge in a Love Potion No. 5 massage with five essential oils or a renewing red-wine facial.
