Starbucks Wants To Be Your Sommelier
Announcing a Holiday Deal and New Nightcap Menu from the Venti-Sized Coffee Company
By Nancy Staab
Care for an Argentinian Malbec with that Mocha Grande? Starbucks Courts a New Evening Crowd with Savory Bites and Wine after 4PM at Select Atlanta Starbucks.
Ever the innovator, Starbucks is rolling out an experimental new “evening menu” to capture the after-4PM to midnight crowd and Atlanta is one of the first cities in which the concept will be tested. Not to fear, you can still sate your Pumpkin Spice Latte craving late-night, but an enhanced menu of sips (priced $7-$15 a glass), select beers, and shareable small plates should encourage more late-night, post-party or date-night lounging.
The new evening menu is available now at four metro Starbucks in Roswell (10800 Alpharetta Hwy.), Westside (1801 Howell Mill Rd.), Buckhead (1200 West Paces Ferry Road) and Duluth (9700 Medlock Bridge Road). Among the new menu items: warm rosemary and brown sugar cashews, bacon-wrapped dates with balsamic glaze, brie cheese with fig preserves, savory flatbreads, and chocolate fondue. And the vino? Everything from an Argentinian Malbec to an Italian Prosecco. With Starbucks going this chi-chi, maybe it will edge out those interlopers who settle in for the entire day with laptop and one small “tall”: you know who you are!
And just for the holidays, Starbucks is getting into the yuletide spirit by offering a free holiday drink (Caramel Brulee Latte, Peppermint Mocha or Gingerbread Latte) with purchase from Nov. 15-18, between the hours of 2PM-5PM.
