Black-tie guests enjoyed cocktails on the pizza followed by a gourmet dinner in the Wieland Pavilion; a luxury auction of several first-class art trips in cities like NYC, Berlin and Venice, Italy; and after-dinner dancing. Guests also enjoyed an exclusive preview of the new exhibit “Fast Forward: Modern Moments 1913-2013.” The exhibit, a collaboration between MoMA and The High Museum spotlights a century worth of American artists practicing everything from Pop Art to contemporary art installations by the like of Sarah Sze. Also included in the exhibit survey: works by Dali to Duchamp, Picasso to Jackson Pollock, and de Kooning to Jeff Koons. Taking inspiration from a Roy Lichtenstein work, “Girl with Ball” circa 1961, Tony Conway and his Legendary Event team created a playfully punchy décor scheme in primary colors, with centerpieces accented by giant beach balls, in imitation of the signature Lichtenstein work included in the Fast Forward exhibit.
Among the connoisseur crowd: Stanley Romanstein, Louise Sams and Jerome Grilhot, Sue and John Wieland, Pam Smart, Earnest and Charlene Crusoe-Ingram, Margaretta Taylor, Carey Benham, Paul Hagedorn, Merry Carlos, Lucinda Bunnen, Todd Tautfest, Monica Dioda, Nina Cheney, Alex West, Emily Amy.
