The Biebs was in the house plus many other homegrown Georgia musicians to honor legendary vocal coach Jan Smith at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre this fall
The red carpet was awash with Georgia-born entertainers, including Usher, actor Samuel L. Jackson and Jasmine Guy to honor Georgia-based music legends and industry leaders Justin Bieber, Toni Braxton, funk band Mother’s Finest, vocal coach Jan Smith (Bieber being her most famed recent client), and promoter manager Paul Cochran (Roy Orbison, Lynyrd Skynyrd)

Georgia Music Festival Awards Executive Producer Bobbie Bailey, Governor Nathan Deal, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Director Michael Taormina, Senior Executive Director of The Recording Academy Michele Caplinger, Atlanta Ballet Director John McFall, Joel Katz, Jack Sawyer, Fulton County Commissioner Robb Pitts, and Masters of Ceremonies Monica Pearson, Ryan Cameron and Justin Gray.
Several performers blew the roof off this gala night, including Justin Bieber with a rousing rendition of Georgia on My Mind with Jan Smith and Usher chiming in; a glamorous cabaret act by Jasmine Guy, and high notes from honoree Toni Braxton. Sorry Bieber fans, we hear the teen dream brought both his mother and Selena Gomez as his dates…aw.
