The Highlights

A chic crowd of dapper men (and their dates) turned out for a private cocktail to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Gucci’s iconic, horsebit loafer for men and women. And with a luxe, made-to-order program, guests could also order up their own custom loafers in everything from suede and leather, to exotic croc, python or patent leather. Gucci party-goers could even hand-pick their loafer’s hardware, linings and colors precisely to their liking. We loved the slate-gray suede version and the rock star one with studs! And with a heritage that includes fleet-of-foot Fred Astaire, John Wayne and Clark Gable, these shoes are timeless classics.  A sophisticated crowd of fashion and style folks, sports figures and media mavens lapped up specialty Mint Montage cocktails and gourmet bites like seared ahi tuna on wonton chips; beef sirloin crostini with olive tapenade and black truffle vinaigrette; and wild mushroom cheesecake with chive oil courtesy of Dennis Dean Catering. Dessert came in the form of hand-rolled chocolate truffles and miniature limoncello tarts. Gucci boutique, decked out with sleek Italian fashion, handbags, shoes and eyewear also offered additional sweets of the eye-candy variety.

The Scene Makers

Among the sartorially minded crowd: CNN’s Don Lemon; Atlanta Falcons players Justin Blalock, Kerry Meier, William Moore; media maven Jovita Moore; NFL players Andy Strickland and Hannible Navies; and city slickers such as Pablo Henderson, Justin Anthony, Marsha Middleton, John Stupka, Robanne Schulman, Marni Seidel, Bowe O’Brien, Jeffrey McQuithy, Jennifer Brett, Mara Davis, Mychael Knight, Drew Brown, Cathleen Smith Bresciani, HLN’s Ryan Smith, David Callassen of BMI, Sallie Johnston of The ONE Group.
