The Highlights

A legion of cultural leaders, who also happen to be ladies-who-lunch, turned up to fill the ballroom of Atlanta History Center to capacity. After a few year’s hiatus, the Center has brought back its popular designer luncheon series—this year honoring one of Atlanta’s own, couture handbag designer Jada Loveless (ravishing in Valentino red). Jada’s slideshow luncheon was a fascinating look into the origins of her creative process; her visual inspirations from vintage Verdura to artist Francesco Clemente; her trajectory from Parsons School of Design, work with designer Mary Douglas Drysdale and a fashion education at Neiman Marcus; and just how those custom cinnabar red crocodile clutches with jeweled clasps are made. Loveless later branched out to luxe luggage and at the luncheon revealed her latest brand extension: Loveless Men. After the luncheon and lecture, guests enjoyed an informal show of models clad in the best of Spring looks from Neiman Marcus.

The Scene-Makers

Among the fashionable crowd of Loveless fans, many carting her bejeweled clutches: Ginny Brewer, Alison Womack Jowers, Susan Forehand, Harrison Rohr, Danielle Rollins,  Laura Turner Seydel, Sally Dorsey, Victoria Palesfsky,  Phebe Wahl, Calvin Fong, Merry Carlos, Caroline Leake, Ruth Anthony, Marilyn Krone, Paige Smith, Wendy Aaronson, Tom Loveless, Mary Portman, Cinda Boomershine, Kevin Knaus, Cynthia Moreland, Elizabeth Schulte Roth, Sharon Umphenour, Corrie Johnson, Christan Wojcik,  Aida Flamm, Monica Nassar Smith, Rebecca Bily, Dot Stoller
