The Movie Synopsis:
Directed by two-time Academy Award nominated Bruce Beresford, Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding stars Academy Award-winning Jane Fonda (who plays an eccentric, estranged, hippie grandmother) two-time Academy Award-nominated Catherine Keener, international heartthrob Chace Crawford, and Sundance’s breakout star Elizabeth Olsen. Beresford delivers a heartfelt comedy about an uptight New York City lawyer (Keener) who, after splitting with her husband, takes her two spirited teenagers to her hippie mother’s house in the countryside for a family vacation. What was meant to be a weekend getaway quickly turns into a summer adventure of romance, family secrets, and self-discovery. Peace, Love & Misunderstanding is a story about the things that unite and divide families.
Proceeds from the event benefitted G-CAPP (The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention). G-CAPP was founded by Jane Fonda in 1995, when Georgia had the highest teen birth rate in the nation. Since its founding, Georgia has seen a 30% decrease in teen pregnancy.
