“A Salute to the Glorious Grape” was this year’s theme and a lot of “saluting” was done to vino at this year’s auction in terms of raising glasses to lips! Guests sampled wine from some of the world’s top vineyards and enjoyed a gourmet dinner prepared by the special guest chefs. An auction of various premium wine lots and other luxe travel packages such as a Colgin wine dinner at Blackberry Farm led to fierce bidding and festive toasting.
$2 million was raised to support the High Museum of Art’s exhibition and educational programming. The dates of next year’s wine auction are March 20-23, 2013.
