Atlanta’s native son presents his Spring Collection on the heels of his NYC Fashion Week raves
Neiman Marcus GM Mark Fillion introduced fashion designer and Atlanta native Wes Gordon
Neiman Marcus’s second floor was transformed into a mini-salon as Wes Gordon personally presented his spring collection to an admiring crowd.
A fashionable crowd of Gordon fans gathered to see the designer’s latest pieces, including Johanna Ellis, Liz McDermott, Monica Nassar Smith, Aida Flamm, Marilyn Krone, Anne Holdgrafer, Diane Gordon, Corrie Johnson and several friends that had gone to school with Gordon at Lovett Preparatory School. Polished beyond his 25 years, Gordon cut his teeth with design stints under Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford, before launching his own successful label in 2010. His clothes typically straddle the delicate line between old world, timeless elegance, and fresh, youthful modernity. W magazine recently labeled him as one to watch and Style.com reported that at the end of his spring fashion presentation, “it seemed as though everyone in the room today took notice of Gordon’s talent—Cathy Horyn chatted up Wes, while a queue of editors and buyers formed behind her.”
Best of Show
Luxe fabrics but ease of cut and style made for a chic, youthful spring collection, imbued with plenty of color. We loved the python blazer, a navy gazar trench dress, cashmere silk cardigans in sorbet colors, a silver lurex keyhole cocktails dress which Gordon described as “very Twiggy-esque” and a baby blue sheath dress with silver beading down the sides.
