It seems like all of fashion fell for artist inspirations this spring/summer-- from Picasso-like prints at Jil Sander to pretty paint swirls at Vera Wang and Jason Wu’s collaboration with street artist KAWS. But one of our favorite collaborations is this limited-edition collection of Italian canvas totes, decorated with bold paint swirls by artist James Nares for Coach. The totes imitate the ribbon-like, paint-swirl canvases that artist Nares creates on a grand scale. The London native moved to New York in the 1970s and had made his name in the art world with these kinds of bravura brushstrokes. Though the line of leather-accented bags is marketed towards men, we think they are equally stylish for women, especially in a bold hot pink. But you better act fast. Only 175 of these bags in each of five colors (black, green, pink, red and blue) will be available worldwide.
