Salma Hayek, Kerry Washington, Florence Welch & other eclectic A-Listers shone the spotlight on art and film at this L.A. bash…& Jennifer Anniston took the plunge—big time
Over 500 guests from film, art and fashion collided at LAMA’s 2nd annual Art +Film Gala, chaired by Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Chow. Among the crowd: artists Doug Aitken, John Baldessari, Bill Viola and honoree Ed Ruscha. Fashion luminaries included Francois-Henri Pinault, Vogue’s Anna Wintour, W magazine’s Stefano Tonchi and Gucci’s designer Frida Giannini. And film stars, many clad in Gucci, crowded the red carpet like so many constellations, including Jennifer Anniston, Salma Hayek, Cameron Diaz, Jane Fonda, Amy Adams, Minka Kelly, Rob Pattinson, Kerry Washington, Minka Kelly, Sean Penn, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeremy Renner and Amber Heard. Live music was provided by chanteuse Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine.
LACMA’s director Michael Govan presented Ed Ruscha with his award and Steven Spielberg presented the tribute award to late filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, famous for futuristic flick Clockwork Orange. The fashions were also out of this world with Jennifer Anniston taken the plunge in more than one way with her new fiancé in tow and big engagement rock on her hand; many rocking Gucci, and acidic brights as the sub-theme of the night-- from Kerry Washington’s coral Gucci number to citron yellow dresses worn by Cameron Diaz and Amy Adams.
LACMA will be the future home of the Academy of Motion Pictures, further fusing the worlds of art and film in years to come.
